B-Boy/Girl Prelims & Artist Black Book Signing this Saturday at Fifth Element

This Saturday you can catch plenty of pre-Soundset action at Fifth Element (2411 Hennepin Ave S) in Minneapolis.

From 1PM – 6PM you can catch the B-Boy/Girl Prelims 5 on 5 battle in the parking lot behind Fifth Element. The event is free and battles start at 1PM so be sure to get there early! This prelim battle will determine which crews compete at Soundset this year so stop by Fifth Element on Saturday to catch all of the action!

We’ve also got a Black Book Session happening from 8PM-9PM at Fifth Element on Saturday with members of The Seventh Letter. It’ll give you a chance to check out some work and meet the artists painting the “Live Painting Wall” at Soundset the following day!

DJ Snuggles to host Fifth Element Stage at Soundset!

DJ Snuggles has earned a stellar reputation by winning over diverse audiences of all ages every time he sets foot on stage. His performance reputation is rivaled only by his personal reputation. He’s a stand up member of his community and at only 22 years old, he’s one of the most exciting hip hop artist to look for in Minnesota. DJ Snuggles is one of the hottest/best beatboxers out today, he’s known for his explosive sounds and extravagant shows, Snuggles has accomplished much at a young age. DJ Snuggles has stunned crowds all over the world including his hometown Minneapolis MN, and has been acknowledged by hometown legends, Prince, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Doomtree, Toki Wright, And many many more….

Snuggles started beatboxing when he was 10yrs old but starting at a early age he was only a beginner, now things have changed, he’s performed in front of thousands and thousands of fans, and has had a standing notation of 8,000 people when he won the “Minnesota State Fair Talent Competition”. The Soundset B-Boy/Girl Battle has been an event highlight for the past two
years and you can expect the tradition to continue this Sunday! With a
increased number of crews registering to compete we’ve decided to host
our first Pre Lim Battle!

The first part of the showdown will take place this Saturday (one day
before the Main Event). Come thru and watch the 5 person crews battle move
for move; classic style, innovative power moves, intricate routines, & a
whole lotta soul!

The Soundset B-boy/Girl Finals take place at Soundset on Sunday with beats
spun by The 45 King, Plain Ole Bill, Rob Swift, Kid Cut Up, DJ Revolution,
Mike The 2600 King, & DJ Pratt!

Soundset, Ironlak & Seventh Letter present the Live Painting Wall featuring Sever, Pose, Risk, Ewok

Soundset has partnered with Ironlak and The Seventh Letter Crew to bring some of the worlds most talented visual artists, who will be live painting all day: Sever, Pose, Risk, and Ewok. In addition, some of the artists will be doing a signing at the Ironlak booth, schedule will be available on site.

Also, Saturday, May 29th from 8-9PM, Stop by Fifth Element (2411 Hennepin Ave S | MPLS, MN) for a Black Book Session with the above mentioned artists.
